Balblair distillery manager reveals secrets behind The whisky brand’s unique philosophy

John MacDonald Discusses Balblair in an Interview for their Latest Website

In a short interview filmed for Balblair’s latest website, Distillery Manager John MacDonald discusses the whisky brand’s unique approach to production, the characteristics of the whiskies he and his team produce and their passion for the job.

Unlike most single malt whiskies, Balblair Distillery judge a whisky’s perfect bottling point by continually assessing casks from various years until the whisky is judged to have reached peak condition in terms of flavour and aroma. Only then, when it has been ‘Timed to Perfection’, will the whisky be bottled as a Balblair Exclusive Vintage. In the interview, John MacDonlald goes on to explain that Balblair is ‘the only distillery that offers exclusively vintage whiskies’.

In a creative review led by Balblair’s Brand Manager Andy Hannah, Edinburgh-based agency, Whitespace was invited to redevelop Balblair’s website (http://www.balblair.com) to reflect the brand’s ‘Timed to Perfection’ philosophy.

The site also includes Vintage tasting notes and a Where to Buy guide. Phase two development for the site includes e-commerce functionality enabling lovers of the carefully crafted malt to purchase their favourite Vintage online.
